Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. Through a school play as well as a Stagecoach Production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by agents via her Oxford teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. The movie set records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three young starlets. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the movie.
