John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions with his pop-folk songs and many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf at Roswell in New Mexico, was in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is now the international face of Colorado. When I travel, I always come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles following a performance with a small folk music bands. The song was written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential when he first heard it. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd on the streets of Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
